This week we are catching up with former Waterloo Bucks pitcher Matt Morgal.  The Toronto Blue Jays drafted the New Orleans, LA native 400th overall in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft.

Morgal started  the 2009 season with the A level Auburn squad.  While in Auburn he appeared in 12 games which included 2 games.  In that time he pitched a total 26.2 innings.  In his time he had a 3-4 record with a 6.08 ERA, in this time he struck out 15 batters while walking 12.

This past season Morgal spent his time with the GCL Blu Jays of the Rookie League, in the 2010 season Morgal was a part of the bullpen.  While a part of the pen Matt pitched in 18 games and pitching a total of 23 innings while maintaining an impressive 2.35 ERA.  He collected a record of 3-0 while striking out 13 batters and walking 12.

Matt is starting the 2011 season with the GCL Blue Jays.

Morgal played for Waterloo in 2008 where he appeared in 3 games, during his time with the Bucks Matt threw 17 innings, struck out 6, and finished with a 0-2 record and a 5.82 ERA.
