The 6’1 and 190lb infielder Clint Barmes was born in Vincennes, Indiana. Clint attended Indiana State University while playing for the Waterloo Bucks in the years 1999-2000.
In the two years Clint played with the Bucks, he had a .263 batting average with 64 hits in 243 at bats. He had 17 doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs and 56 RBI’s while swiping 27 bases. Clint was in the Colorado Rockies system for quite a few years, and just signed a 2 year deal worth 10.5 Million on Tuesday.
Clint had three requests in finding a new team this winter: he wanted to reunite with Clint Hurdle, he wanted a 2 year deal, and he wanted to play shortstop. The Pirates were happy they were able to fufill all three of his wants. Barmes had played for Clint Hurdle back in Colorado, and wanted to reuinte with him for another two seasons.
In the Majors, Clint has attained a .252 average in 788 games. He has 691 hits in 2737 at bats during his career with 158 doubles, 15 triples, and 73 homeruns while stealing 42 bases.
This passed year with the Astros, Clint had a .244 average with 12 homeruns, and 3 stolen bases.
Look for Clint this coming year on the Pittsburgh Pirates as he continues his career in the big leagues. The Waterloo Bucks are honored to call him our own, and wish him the best in the coming years.
