The Waterloo Bucks continued their perfect start to the season, defeating the Willmar Stingers 8-7 in the second of a three game series. The Bucks move to 4-0 on the season while the Willmar Stingers fall to 0-4. Rick Dodridge followed up his collegiate teammate Jordan Foley’s performance with a solid six innings of his own. Kevin Kaczmarski led the Bucks on offense and also had a number of impressive plays with his glove.

Action started right in the bottom of the 2nd for the Bucks as Nico Zych hit a two RBI double. McClain followed that up with an RBI single and put the Bucks up 3-0. The Stingers came back with runs in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings to tie the game but the Bucks were able to take the lead right back. Jordan Adams drove in Sean Borman with an RBI double . Kaczmarski got a bunt single to advance Borman to third. Lindauer followed that up with a sacrifice fly to score Borman and give the Bucks a 5-3 lead.

The Stingers came back strong in the 7th inning with by scoring three runs off the Bucks Nick Maiers. Kaczmarski made a big play in the field, throwing out a runner trying to score to save a run for the Bucks and to keep the Bucks within striking distance, down 6-5.

The Bucks again had a response in the bottom of the inning. Riley Good started things off with a single and was able to advance to second after almost getting picked off. Peter Leonello and Borman each drew walks to load the bases. Kaczmarski came through again for the Bucks, hitting a bases clearing double to give the Bucks an 8-6 lead. Ryan Doty came in the 8th inning and gave up one run but was able to finish off the Stingers to get the save, with the Bucks winning with a final score of 8-7.
