The Bucks were scheduled for two games against the Cats today but were only able to get one in, with the second one being postponed. The Bucks were able to take down the Cats, winning 3-0 for their second shutout of the season.
The game was quiet for the first five innings with nobody scoring any runs. Micah Bryan got the start for the Bucks and for the second straight start, shut down the opposition, giving up no runs in five innings for the Bucks with seven strikeouts and just two walks. This gives Bryan 12 straight scoreless innings over his last two starts after two shaky starts to begin the season. Bryan’s ERA has dropped all the way down to 2.79.
The Bucks struggled in their own right against Cats starter Kacy Kemmer, who shut them out for five innings but apparently just staying an inning too long. In the top of the 6th inning, Benny Roberts smacked a solo home run to give the Bucks a 1-0 lead. The Bucks were able to add one more run when Kevin Kaczmarski was driven in by Sean Borman.
The Bucks added one more in the top of the 7th but didn’t need it. Kellen Camus shut down the Cats in his first appearance this season, striking out three and walking two, giving up no runs on two hits. Since this was a double-header, the game was set to be just seven innings.
The second game was postponed though and the Bucks and Cats still have a double-header set for tomorrow. The first game will start at 5:05 pm. Be sure to check in to waterloobucks.com for all your latest Bucks information.
