 Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced that Austin Barrett has been named the Young Plumbing & Heating Bucks Player of the Week. This is the second time he has received the honor this season. Barrett is a Mims, Florida native and is currently attending Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.

In his last five games, Barrett hit .409 (9-22) with his first home run of the season, three doubles, four RBI, and four runs scored. He only struck out four times in those 22 at bats. In that time span, his on-base percentage was .409 while slugging .682 to go with an OPS of 1.091.

The Bucks have just three games left in the first half of the Northwoods season. Those games are all at the division-leading Mankato MoonDogs. First pitch Monday in game one of the series is set for 7:05. Waterloo’s next home game is Thursday, July 5 against the Willmar Stingers to kick off the second half of the season.
