 Box Score

The Bucks fell to the Rox for the second game in a row on Tuesday, losing by a score of 3-2. The offense struggled for the second night in a row as the Bucks fall to 33-32 overall and 14-16 in the second half of the season. The Rox improve to 27-38 overall and 18-13 in the second half.

The Rox started the scoring off in the 3rd inning when Elvin Soto hit a single to score Boo Vazquez. The Bucks came back with two runs in the 4th inning. Thomas Lindauer drew a leadoff walk and Dan Sheppard was able to reach base on an error. Kevin Kaczmarski then hit his 13th double of the season, scoring both players and giving the Bucks a 2-0 lead.

The Rox came back with a run in the 6th and 7th innings to take a 3-2 lead. Phil Imholte drove in Mark Rhine with a single and Soto hit another RBI single in the 7th to score Nick Tanielu.

This was all the home team needed as the Bucks only managed two hits in the final five innings of play. Overall, the Bucks offense struggled mightily for the second night in a row, with just two runs scored on five hits. Rox pitcher Tadd Johansen of Wayne State College went a complete game with seven strikeouts and one walk.

For the Bucks, the pitching was very solid. Kellen Camus got the start and the Washington State product went five and two-thirds innings, giving up two earned runs with five strikeouts and no walks. Justin Grijalva was the only other pitcher for the blue and yellow, going two and one-third innings, giving up one unearned run with three strikeouts and a walk.

While the Bucks offense leads the league in runs scored this year, their offensive output these last two games has really set them back with just three runs on ten hits in two games. With just five games left, the Bucks will need an offensive resurgence to make one last push towards the playoffs.

The Bucks next game is tomorrow against at St. Cloud with first pitch set for 7:05 pm. Remember to check out waterloobucks.com for all your latest Bucks information.
