Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Dalton Douty to their roster for the 2013 season.  Douty (pronounced DOUBT-ee), a sophomore at the University of California Santa Barbara, is the sixth player to be named to Waterloo’s roster for the team’s 19th season.

Last season for the Gauchos, Douty appeared in 11 games, all in relief.  The 6’5”, 215-pounder finished the season with a 5.68 ERA, three strikeouts, and one save in 12.2 innings pitched. A native of Huntington Beach, California, Douty accumulated a 3.38 ERA during Big West Conference play.

“Dalton has a huge upside,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin.  “He brings good command to the mound and has a three pitch mix.  At the very least, Dalton will be a good set-up guy for us.”

Born November 29, 1992, Dout\"\"y played high school baseball at Edison High School where he went 6-0 with a 2.10 ERA as a senior. Douty helped his prep squad win the Sunset League for three consecutive seasons.

The Bucks will open the 2013 season at home versus the St. Cloud Rox on May 29. Season tickets, group outings, and single-game tickets are currently on sale. For more information, call the Bucks’ Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at
