Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced the promotional schedule for their 19th season of play. With 35 home games at renovated Riverfront Stadium in 2013, the Bucks will bring affordable family entertainment to the Cedar Valley.
The Bucks will open the season at home on Wednesday, May 29 versus the St. Cloud Rox. First pitch will be 6:35 pm with gates opening at 5:30 pm. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Bucks Magnet Schedule powered by AKA Services and Karen’s Print-Rite. There will be a post-game Fireworks Extravaganza for all fans to enjoy.
Seven additional Fireworks Extravaganzas are scheduled for the 2013 season, including a Saturday Fireworks Series that will feature fireworks after every Saturday home game. In addition to Opening Day, fireworks shows will take place on June 15, June 22, July 4, July 13, July 27, August 3, and August 10.
Piano Man Night will occur on Thursday, June 20, when the Bucks take on St. Cloud for a 6:35 pm tilt Live piano music will be played before and throughout the game that evening by "Iowa’s Favorite Piano Man" Mick Staebell. In addition to live piano music, during the game, it will also be a College and Double Buck Night powered by The Wild Hare American Bar & Grill and 105.7 KOKZ. $2 admission coupons will be available from The Wild Hare and 105.7 KOKZ and there will be $2 beer, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $1 fountain soda all game long. College students will also receive $1 admission with a valid college ID.
The Russian Bar Trio will make an appearance at Riverfront Stadium on Wednesday, July 3. The Russian Bar Trio is a nationally touring high-flying act which combines the gymnastic skills of the balance beam, the rebound tempo skills of trampoline, and the swing handstands skills of the uneven bars and the parallel bars. The Russian Bar Trio has performed at NBA, NHL, Minor League Baseball, and college basketball games all across America, and is bringing their talents to a Bucks game in early-July. The Russian Bar Trio has also performed on Oprah, Ellen, and America’s Got Talent. That evening, the Bucks will host the Mankato MoonDogs for a 6:35 pm game.
The very next day, the Bucks will host the only 4th of July Fireworks Show in the Cedar Valley as part of their Independence Day celebration and the start of the 2nd Half of NWL play. The Bucks host their longtime rivals, the Rochester Honkers, with a 6:35 pm start. Along with the post-game Fireworks Extravaganza, which will be one of the largest fireworks shows of the Bucks’ season, it will be Double Buck Night powered by LITTLE CAESARS & ROCK 108. $2 admission coupons will be available from Little Caesars & Rock 108. $2 beer, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn & $1 fountain soda are featured throughout the game.
Kids Quarter Dash Night, presented by the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Board of Realtors, will occur on Saturday, July 27, when the Bucks take on Mankato for a 7:05 pm start. The first 250 kids ages 10 & under will receive a Beach Bucket courtesy of WCFBOR. After the game, all kids ages 10 & under will be allowed on the field where they will dash to pick up 1,000 quarters placed on the infield as part of WCFBOR’s "Code of Ethics Centennial" celebration, all courtesy of Waterloo/Cedar Falls Board of Realtors. In addition to the Kids Quarter Dash, there will be a post-game Fireworks Extravaganza as part of the Bucks’ Saturday Fireworks Series.
“I’m really excited about the promotional schedule we were able to put together this summer,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin. “This is probably the best promotional schedule that we’ve had since I’ve been involved with the team, and I think fans will really enjoy themselves at the ballpark this summer.”
For the 14th consecutive season, each Monday home game will be a Buck Night. With a total of four Monday games, each Buck Night will consist of $1 beer, $1 hot dogs, and $1 popcorn as well as $1 admission with an admission coupon from participating sponsors and select Woodward Radio Group stations.
The Bucks will continue Double Buck Nights in their promotional schedule. Each of the seven Thursday home games will be a Double Buck Night featuring $2 beer, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $1 fountain soda as well as $2 admission with an admission coupon from participating sponsors and select Woodward Radio Group stations.
For the third consecutive year, Tuesday and Wednesday home games will feature the Great Clips Shutout Challenge. Fans with a box seat ticket during Tuesday and Wednesday regular season Bucks’ home games will receive complimentary food and beverage until the visiting team scores, all courtesy of Great Clips.
Another feature of Tuesday and Wednesday games are Copyworks College Nights on the Deck. Individuals who present a valid College ID at the Riverfront Stadium ticket window will get into the game and onto the Budweiser Party Deck for just $17.
A new addition to the Bucks’ promotional schedule is the Friday Night Fish Fry. All six Friday home games will feature discounted fried fish baskets all game long.
