Alexandria (MN) The Waterloo Bucks have played 25 innings and earned two wins in the course of two days, following an 8-5 10-inning win over the Alexandria Blue Anchors on Monday.
Jake Mahon gave the Bucks a 6-5 lead in the tenth with a seeing-eye base hit through the left side that scored Connor McClain from second. Marcos Calderon then followed with a RBI double to make it 7-5.
Jake Riffice drove in another run with a four-pitch walk and the Bucks would win 8-5.
Waterloo is now on an eight game winning streak, matching their season-best, and are 5-0 to open the second half. The Bucks are also 5-0 in extra inning games.
The Bucks built a 5-3 lead powered by two-run homers from Marcos Calderon and Pat MacKenzie.
Ryan Blanchard lifted a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to level the score at 5-5 for Alexandria.
The Blue Anchors would get the next runner on base, before strikeout-throwout double play by Drasen Johnson and Jake Mahon to end the threat.
In the ninth, Alexandria loaded the bases with one out before Adam Dian came on to strikeout the next two batters and send the game to extra innings.
