Waterloo, IA – The Northwoods League has named Waterloo Bucks’ right-handed pitcher Jacob Stone the league’s Pitcher of the Night after hurling a no-hitter in Waterloo’s 8-0 win over the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Monday night.
In Stone’s Riverfront Stadium debut, the Weatherford Community College product pitched the first complete game no-hitter in Waterloo Buck history. Stone struck out seven Border Cat batters on 121 pitches on his way into the record books. The Ft. Worth, Texas native is now 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA in two games.
Waterloo finishes a six-game homestand tonight as they take on the Willmar Stingers at 6:35 pm before heading on a one-game road trip to Willmar on Wednesday.
