Waterloo, IA – Former Waterloo Bucks infielder Cameron Perkins has been added to the Arizona Fall League’s Peoria Javelinas roster. Perkins replaced Kelly Dugan on the Peoria roster on October 11 and is hitting .333 in two games.
 
Perkins played for Waterloo in 2011 where the Indianapolis, Indiana native had one of the best single seasons in Bucks history. Perkins led Waterloo in hitting with a .344 average in 63 games. The 6’5”, 210-pounder finished with 85 hits, 49 runs, 19 doubles, 10 home runs, 46 RBI, 136 total bases, 13 stolen bases, a .416 on-base percentage, and a .551 slugging percentage on the season, all of which led the Bucks. Perkins ranked second in the NWL in hits, third in slugging percentage, fourth in hitting, doubles, and RBI, and led the South Division in total bases and extra-base hits (30).  Perkins was the recipient of a Rawlings Big Stick Award and was named both a mid-season and post-season NWL All-Star for his efforts.
 
Perkins’ name peppers the Bucks single-season record book:
·        At Bats – 247 – 7th Place
·        Batting Average – .344 – 10th Place
·        Doubles – 19 – Tied for 6th Place
·        Games – 63 – Tied for 10th Place
·        Hits – 85 – Tied for 4th Place
·        Home Runs – 10 – Tied for 4th Place
·        Slugging Percentage – .551 – 9th Place
 
Although he played just one season, Perkins’ name is also found in Waterloo’s career record book:
·        Batting Average – .344 – 7th Place
·        Home Runs – 10 – Tied for 9th Place
·        Slugging Percentage – .551 – 7th Place
 
The Purdue University product was drafted in the 6th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. This past season, Perkins played for the Clearwater Theshers, hitting .295 with six home runs and 53 RBI. Perkins was named a Florida State League Mid-Season All-Star.
The Bucks will be back in action in late-spring of 2014.  The 2014 Northwoods League schedule is expected to be released this fall.
