This week with Monday Musings we talked to former Buck, Shane Broyles. He attended Seminole State College then transferred to Texas Tech University with a General Studies Degree. Here are 5 interesting facts about him.
1. How did you get involved with playing baseball?
I got involved playing baseball at a young age, my dad and grandpa both played baseball and had a huge influence on me playing the game.
2. What made you want to play for the Bucks?
I wanted to play for the Bucks not only because the North Woods League is a great league, but my college roommate Chase Stevens also played for the Bucks that summer.
3. Who was an athlete you admired growing up and why?
Nolan Ryan, being from Texas he was the ideal pitcher that everyone would look up to and he's a great role model for pitchers.
4. What was your most memorable moment playing baseball?
My most memorable moment was getting drafted by the Colorado Rockies, it was a time when I realized that all the work I have put into my career was starting to pay off.
5. Who was a player you learned a lot from?
A player that I learned a lot from the summer I played with the Bucks was my roommate Drew Walsh. He was one of the first people I had ever met from New York and we ended up being pretty good friends.
