Waterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that left-handed pitcher Greg Kuhlman has signed to play with Waterloo for the 2014 season.  Kuhlman (pronounced COOL-mun),kuhlman-greg a junior at Indiana State University, is the 23rd player to be named to the Bucks’ roster for the team’s 20th season.

This season for the Sycamores, Kuhlman has yet to see action, as the southpaw is sitting out with an injury.  The 6’3”, 195-pounder looks to be back on the mound by mid-May. 

“I am very excited about coming to play for the Waterloo Bucks this summer I have heard nothing but good things about the league, fans, and atmosphere that Waterloo Bucks fans bring,” said Kuhlman.  “I hope to help build on the success of last year and look forward to competing for a league title.”

“Greg induces a lot of ground balls, is a guy that throws strikes, and doesn't walk a lot of batters,” said Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin.  "He's has success at the collegiate level, and being an Iowa kid, we’ve had him on our radar for a while.”

A native of West Des Moines, Iowa, Kuhlman finished his sophomore season with a 3-2 record and two saves.  Kuhlman appeared in 16 games with five starts and ended the year with a 4.88 ERA and 48 strikeouts.

Born August 5, 1992, Kuhlman played high school ball at West Des Moines Valley High School where he was a two-year letter winner.  Kuhlman will join Indiana State teammate Connor McClain on the Bucks roster this summer.  Greg is the son of Kevin and Teresa Kuhlman.
