The Bucks looked to be cruising their way to an easy victory in their series opener against Duluth, before an eighth inning melt down cut the lead to just one run. Adam Dian was able to come in and stop the rally, though, and the Bucks held on to a slim victory.
Adam Bray was the pitcher of record for Waterloo, earning his second win of the season. Bray was untouchable, allowing just two hits and no runs over six innings, while striking out nine.
Alex Winkelman took the loss for Duluth, despite an overall solid performance. He allowed four runs (one earned) over five innings and struck out seven.
Dian came in with two outs in the eight and struck out the next four batters, earning the save and slamming the door on Duluth's comeback dreams.
The Bucks and Huskies wrap up their two game series at 3:35 p.m. Sunday. Landon Simpson will take the mound for his Bucks season debut in that one.
