The Bucks tallied four quick runs in the first inning of Monday night's contest before the game was suspended due to inclement weather. That early output would prove insurmountable down the stretch, though, despite Thunder Bay's comeback attempt. The Bucks managed to hang on to a 7-5 victory.

Dane Dunning earned the victory for the Bucks after tossing five strong innings and allowing one earned run on three hits. Tim Shannon and Greg Kuhlman would allow four combined runs over the next inning and two thirds. JD Moore came in with two outs in the eight inning and slammed the door, and the Cats efforts fell short.

Zack Speer did not make it through a full inning, and allowed four runs (three earned) on Monday night. He did not come back in following the suspended game, as Nathan Aultman took over to finish out the first when the game resumed.

Thunder Bay put an end to a 29 consecutive inning scoreless streak against the Bucks with Kyle Hann's home run.

Game two is scheduled to resume 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one, with AJ Puk making his pitching debut for the Bucks.
