WATERLOO, IOWA- The Willmar Stingers (35-28) controlled the game from the onset to defeat the Waterloo Bucks (35-28) 6-2 on Thursday, August 3.

Danny Rodriguez brought around the first run of the game on an RBI groundout and then a throwing error by the catcher Jay Schuyler brought around another run after a Josh Bissonette single. The score was 2-0 until the top of the third when Danny Rodriguez singled off of the right field wall adding another run.

Caleb Miley (1-2) surrendered nine hits in four innings of work including a two-run single down the left field line by Luke Becker to push the Stinger advantage to 5-0.

The Bucks answered with an RBI sac-fly by Nicola Mislinski followed by a Deion Thompson RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning. Gus Varland (6-1) replaced Nick Lackney to end the fifth as he went the rest of the way on the mound for the Stingers.

Rodriguez tacked on an insurance run for Willmar by dropping an RBI single to left center. Four errors hurt any chance of momentum for the Bucks in a 6-2 loss at home.

The Bucks play host to the Stingers again tomorrow, August 4 at 6:35 p.m. on Beach Party Night at Riverfront Stadium.
