WATERLOO, Iowa – The Duluth Huskies have punched their playoff ticket.

After a 16-4 thrashing of the Duluth Huskies (19-14) by the Waterloo Bucks (9-25) the Huskies sought after revenge against the Bucks needing a victory to clinch the first half of the season after the Express took care of business on their end.

Overall, the bats woke up for Duluth collecting 16 hits including two home runs. Most of the Huskies’ hits came against Bucks starter Dylan Gotto. Although there was a fight by Waterloo in the seventh, it was the Huskies who came out on top 8-3.

The loss marks the end of the first half for Waterloo who clinched their worst first half in franchise history by record, ending the 2018 first half 10-25.

The second half begins for the Bucks on Wednesday, on the road against the La Crosse Loggers. Records reset to 0-0 as the Bucks look for a second-half surge to clinch a playoff spot. First pitch from Copeland Park in La Crosse is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. You can listen to that game, as well as all Bucks road games at waterloobucks.com.
