Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (4–10) were shut out for the second consecutive game by the Willmar Stinger (10–2) on Sunday, 5–0.
The Stingers wasted no time taking the lead, scoring three runs in the top of the first and never looking back. Outfielder Jake Hjelle led the way for the Stingers, going 3-for-5 with a two runs scored.
Bucks pitcher Ty Roder made his first start of the season on Sunday after his first appearance of 2023 came in relief. Roder worked through 5.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two batters.
The Bucks will return to action on Monday as they continue their homestand with a series against the La Crosse Loggers. Firth pitch of that game is scheduled for 6:35pm.
