Waterloo, IA – On an afternoon where the weather swung wildly from rain to sunshine, the Waterloo Bucks (8–12) found themselves in a similarly volatile situation in their loss to the Duluth Huskies (10–8), 11–9.
The Huskies got off to a hot start, jumping to a six-run lead across the first three innings. The Bucks came back to score nine unanswered runs with seven of them coming in the fifth inning. While momentum had already shifted aggressively in the Bucks’ favor, it swung back to the Huskies in the final two innings as they scored five more runs to solidify their second win of the weekend.
Huskies catcher Tyler Leroy led the way at the plate, batting two three-run home runs to left field, one of which tied the game when the Huskies were down by three in the eighth inning.
The Bucks will look to bounce back as they start their five-day road trip in Thunder Bay against the Border Cats. The first game of the series is scheduled to 6:35 p.m. on Monday.
