Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (9–18) scored five runs through the final two innings on Monday evening, but ultimately fell short against the La Crosse Loggers (10–18), 6–5.
The Loggers went up early with a pair of runs in the top of the second, holding that lead until they opened up the game further with four runs in the top of the sixth. The Bucks were held hitless until the fifth inning when infielder Elliot Good, making his 2023 debut, shot a single into shallow center field.
Designated hitter Marcus Heusohn got the Bucks on the board with an RBI-double into right field in the bottom of the eighth. The Buck would score four more runs over the next two innings, but a groundout from Heusohn ended the the game with the tying run on first base.
The Bucks will look for the series split against the Loggers on Tuesday. That game will be scheduled for a 12:05 p.m. first pitch.
