Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (12–19) were down down by four following the top of the second, but a huge 12-run burst in the bottom of the inning allowed them to take the lead and never look back, cruising to a 16–11 win over the Minnesota Mud Puppies.
The Mud Puppies wasted no time getting on the board, getting a three-RBI home run from Teige Lethert in the first inning. The Bucks headed into the the bottom of the second down by four, but a two-RBI double from Cole Hill sparked what ended up becoming a 12-run inning.
Hill led the way for the Bucks offensively, going 3-4 with five runs scored, three RBIs, two walks and two stolen bases. Out of the nine players who started for the Bucks, eight of them ended up recording an RBI.
The Bucks will aim for the sweep on Saturday as they play the Mud Puppies once again. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
