Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (30–26) picked up a big second half win on Thursday, beating the Minnesota Mud Puppies (8–27) by a whopping score of 13–0.
The Bucks got on the scoreboard first with seven runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back.
Infielders Brodie Kresser and Greg Nichols both recorded three RBIs with a run scored each, while Cole Hill went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Eight of the nine batters in the Bucks starting lineup came across home to score at least one run.
The Bucks also received a stellar performance from their pitching staff. Evan Morrison, who made his first start of the season in this game, pitched four shutout innings, while the bullpen didn’t allow a single hit through the final five innings.
Waterloo will aim for the series sweep on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
