Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (35–30) opened their season-ending four-game home stand on Wednesday night with a win over the Duluth Huskies (34–31), 11–3.
The Huskies jumped out to a one-run lead early, but the Bucks scored nine unanswered runs from the fifth inning onward to cruise to victory. This is the Bucks’ third win over the Huskies this season.
Infielder Brandon Fish led the way at the plate for Waterloo, recording five RBIs on a double as well as his second home run of the season. Fellow infielder Elliot Good good also hit a solo home run in the eighth inning, making this the first game of the season where the Bucks have hit multiple home runs in a game at home.
Catcher Charlie Bogue, making his home debut for the Bucks, also put up a great day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs. This included a two-RBI single into right field in the second inning that accounted the first runs of the game for Waterloo.
The Bucks will play the Huskies again on Thursday night as they aim for the series sweep. That game is scheduled for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch
