La Crosse, WI – The Waterloo Bucks made the morning drive to La Crosse, Wisconsin, and faced off against the Loggers in a tough game one, but didn’t come out on top on top with a final score of 12-8.
The red-hot Bucks offensive continues their hitting ways by plating four in the top of the first inning off of a handful of walks, a single, and a fielder’s choice. It would continue into the bottom of the second when two more scored thanks to a two-run shot from third baseman Chase Beattie, this would be his first of two homers.
La Crosse scored a combined seven runs from the first to the third innings and they held the lead going into the fourth. Beattie got a pitch to hit and he barreled it over the left field wall for another two-run homerun and the game was back in the hands of the Bucks, 8-7. This would be the final time the Bucks scored in this game.
The Loggers offense kept it up and scored three in the bottom of the fourth and then one run in each of the seventh and eighth innings.
Waterloo faces off against La Crosse tomorrow night for game two, with the first pitch from Copeland Park set for 6:35 PM.
