Waterloo, IA – The Bucks and Rivets faced off for the final time in 2024 in a Tuesday night game at Riverfront Stadium, where the offense showed out with a combined 18 runs, but Rockford still pulled away by a score of 13-5.

Rockford scored in five of their nine offensive innings, including two runs in the first inning from walks and a fielder’s choice.

Waterloo scored one run in the bottom of the third inning on a single from Daniel Bentivegna (Edgewood College), who scored Luke Finn (East Texas Baptist University). That would be the first run of the game for Waterloo until the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Rivets’ offense exploded in the middle innings and combined for nine runs, with five coming in the fourth inning alone.

The Bucks answered with a four-spot of their own in the bottom of the seventh including back-to-back-to-back batters scoring a run or more: Lucas Moore (Louisville) with a fielders choice and RBI, Evan Morrison (McPherson College) with a two-run single and Tagger Tyson (Louisville) with a one-run single of his own.

Rockford added two runs in the top of the ninth and closed out the game going to their seventh arm of the contest.

Waterloo gets back to business on August 1st starting their final four-game homestand against the La Crosse Loggers, with the first pitch set for 6:35 PM.
