La Crosse, WI – The Waterloo Bucks start their final road trip of the season as they faced the La Crosse Loggers in the first game of the series and lost by a score of 5-2.
The Bucks bats started the offense in the top of the first inning with a Marcus Heusohn (UIC) fielders choice double-play that allowed Lucas Moore (Louisville) to score. Loggers’ utility guy RJ Hamilton, scored in the bottom of the inning on a wild pitch to knot the game at one all.
In the second inning, the Bucks got multiple runners on, and Daniel Bentivegna (Edgewood College) singled up the middle the runners advanced, but Cade Labruyere (LSU-Alexandria) forced the defense to make an error and he came across the plate and Waterloo took the lead.
Landon Williams for La Crosse hit a solo home run in the bottom half to tie the game again.
Waterloo’s day would be done on the offensive side, but La Crosse would score three more runs in the game with two coming in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Waterloo and La Crosse face off for the final time tomorrow, with the first pitch from Copeland Park set for 6:35 PM.
