Duluth, MN – The Waterloo Bucks accepted their second road loss of 2025 with a 7-4 defeat to the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium on Thursday, June 12.

After surrendering three runs to the Huskies in the bottom of the second, the Bucks responded immediately the following half-inning with three runs of their own to tie it. Caleb Parker, Larry Edwards, and Marcus Heusohn teamed up to hit three consecutive singles with two outs to cut Waterloo’s deficit to just one. Edwards and Heusohn then scored on the next play when Bennett Fryman reached second on a fielding error, tying the game.

The Bucks took the lead the following inning on an Ethan Rossi single into left field that plated Jake Bechtel two batters after he notched a leadoff single. However, Waterloo surrendered the lead in the bottom half of that frame and failed to score for the rest of the contest, securing only two more base runners for the remainder of the game.

Waterloo’s pitchers combined for a season-high 11 strikeouts, but they also issued a season-high ten walks that led to several Duluth runs.

Heusohn led all Bucks batters as the only man in Waterloo’s lineup with two hits. The Waterloo first baseman joined Rossi as the only Bucks to drive runs in for the visiting squad all day with one RBI each. Heusohn, Edwards, Parker, and Bechtel all scored one run to give the Bucks their grand total of four. Rossi led Waterloo’s base-stealing attack with two swipes, and Bechtel stole one base.

The series concludes tomorrow, Friday, June 13, at Wade Stadium at 6:35 pm (CDT).
