Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks lost their third game in a row for the first time this season as they dropped the homestand opener to the Mankato MoonDogs 9-8 at Riverfront Stadium on Saturday, June 21.

After a three-run home run by Marcus Heusohn, a solo shot from Larry Edwards and an RBI single off the bat of Luca Perriello, the first inning ended concluded with the Bucks ahead 5-0. RBI singles by Jake Bechtel in the second and eighth innings along with a Sam Finn double that plated one in the seventh provided the Bucks with their only other runs driven in for the evening.

Tyler Glowacki posted 1.2 scoreless IP out of the bullpen with just two hits and two walks while recording three strikeouts. With this finish, Glowacki has now struck out at least one batter in each of his last eight appearances. Logan Boenker followed that showing up with a three-strikeout performance of his own, pitching two scoreless innings while surrendering a hit and a couple walks.

Heusohn led all batters with three hits, adding a double to his line in the eighth. He has also now drawn at least one walk in each of his last nine games with a free pass he collected in the sixth. Heusohn, Bechtel, Perriello, Edwards and Caleb Parker all picked up multi-hit days. This game marks the only time this season Watelroo scored eight runs and lost the contest.

The action picks back up at Riverfront Stadium tomorrow at 3:35 pm (CDT) with the Bucks taking on the MoonDogs one more time.
