Rochester, MN – The Waterloo Bucks lost for the fifth time in their last seven games on Friday, June 27, falling to the Rochester Honkers at Mayo Field 5-2.

Waterloo notched a season-low hit total for a nine-inning game with only two knocks on the day. This mark ties their season-low of two hits for any contest this year, a sum they posted in their 8-0 defeat to Rochester at Riverfront Stadium in six innings in game one of a doubleheader on Monday, June 16.

Both hits went for extra bases with Ian Halverson’s fifth-inning homer that broke up the no-hitter and Parkey Sweeney’s RBI double that plated Larry Edwards in the seventh.

Kole Bradley worked multiple innings in his fourth consecutive outing, pitching three scoreless frames to get the Bucks through the seventh inning. The Eastern Illinois University southpaw punched out two and surrendered just one walk, one hit, and one hit-by-pitch.

Tyler Glowacki followed up Bradley’s outing with a scoreless frame of his own, striking out one while allowing two hits and a hit-by-pitch. With this performance, Glowacki has now struck out at least one batter in each of his last ten appearances.

By drawing a walk to commence the seventh inning, Edwards extended his on-base streak to a team-leading 16 consecutive contests. When starting, Edwards has failed to reach base in only one game this year — a 15-6 Waterloo victory at Eau Claire on Sunday, June 8.

The Bucks return to Mayo Field tomorrow, Saturday, June 28, for their final regular season matchup against the Honkers this year when Kai Purdy-Burton will take on Jacob Tostado starting at 6:35 pm (CDT).
