Waterloo, Iowa – On Wednesday, July 23, the Waterloo Bucks put up a season-high run total as they defeated the Eau Claire Express 21-8 at Riverfront Stadium.

The Bucks displayed great patience at the plate by walking a season-high 20 times. No Northwoods League team has attained that many base on balls in a single game since the 2023 season.

McNeese State University teammates Larry Edwards and Marcus Heusohn led the charge as they both walked a career-high four times in this contest. Heusohn also doubled and drove in a game-high of four. With this performance, he earned his 11th double of the season, giving him a career-high in that category and a personal-best 13 extra-base hits on the year. He also reached base in all seven of his plate appearances for the evening.

Gannon Wentz earned his second career NWL win, lasting four innings out of the bullpen and allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out one. Tyler Glowacki finished the game with 1.1 IP and two strikeouts. He has now struck out at least one batter in each of his last 18 appearances.

Michael Barham, Parker Sweeney and Owen Ross picked up the other three extra-base hits for Waterloo as each member of the trio added in a double.

In his 100th career NWL game, Edwards reached base in his 17th straight game.

With this win, the Bucks pull off their second two-game sweep over the Express in the past week.

Waterloo hits the road for a seven-game road trip which begins in Duluth tomorrow, Thursday, July 24, when the Bucks will play the Huskies at Wade Stadium at 6:35 pm (CDT).
