Waterloo, IA – Former Waterloo Bucks pitcher Cody Sedlock was called up to the big leagues Sunday by the Baltimore Orioles.    Sedlock joins Texas Rangers pitcher Dane Dunning and Oakland A’s pitcher A.J. Puk as former Bucks who are active Major Leaguers.  After appearing in Sunday’s game versus the Boston Red Sox, Sedlock became the 21^st former Buck to make his MLB debut.

A product of the University of Illinois, Sedlock played with the Bucks in 2014, finishing with the ninth best ERA in the NWL with a 3.27 mark.  In addition, the Sherrard, Illinois native tied for the league lead in starts with 13 and finished the year with a 5-3 record.  Sedlock struck out 53 while walking just 29.  Baltimore selected Sedlock with their first-round pick (27^th overall) in the 2016 MLB Draft.

Prior to his call-up to the Orioles, Sedlock was in AAA Norfolk where he had appeared in eight games for the Tides. He was 2-1 with a 5.83 ERA and had 35 strikeouts in 29.1 innings. In his Major League debut against Boston, he entered the game in relief in the 5^th inning and pitched three innings allowing one run on five hits while striking out three.
