WATERLOO, Iowa – After a quick two runs scored in the first by the subdivision-leading Express, it was looking like seven losses in a row for the Bucks. Keaton Parker said not so fast.

The Eau Claire Express (27-18, 8-3) scored two in the top of the first when Reed Latimer hit a two-RBI double, but that would be the only run-scoring play for Eau Claire on the night.

From there, the Waterloo Bucks (11-32, 2-7) scored six straight to take the upset victory over the Express, 6-2.

The Bucks scored a run in the third inning when Alex Crouch hit his second double of the season that scored Raphael Pelletier to cut the deficit to one.

Most of the scoring came in the fourth, however. Ryan Grabosch hit an RBI single, Liam Critchett hit a two-RBI double, and Liam Critchett scored on an error off a pickoff attempt. Overall, the Bucks scored four runs, off five hits, and an error in the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead.

The Bucks would add one more run in the fifth when Tynan Shahidi hit into an RBI groundout to bring the game to the eventual final score of 6-2 in favor of Waterloo. No runs would score for either side after the fifth.

Keaton Parker, the starting pitcher for the Bucks, would pitch through six innings. Despite allowing the two first-inning runs, he shut the Express down from there. He would be followed up by a scoreless two innings from Cameron Hagan, and the ninth was closed out by Aaron Treloar to get the final three outs.

The victory snapped a six-game losing streak, as the Bucks will look for their first series sweep of the season against the Express on Sunday at 2:35 p.m. in the final game prior to the all-star break.
