Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (5–10) broke their six-game losing skid Monday with a 4–1 over the La Crosse Loggers (3–10).
The Bucks’ pitching is what propelled them to victory as a staff that came into the game with a collective 6.80 ERA only gave up one run on the evening. Bucks starter Jack Nathan gave up just one run through four innings while Kade Douglas came out of the bullpen to pitch three clean innings.
Miraculously, the Bucks led from the bottom of the first onward despite not getting their first hit of the game until the bottom of the sixth. Cole Hill led the way for the Bucks on offense, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run scored.
The Bucks will aim for their second sweep of the season tomorrow as they play their second consecutive game against the Loggers tomorrow night. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
