La Crosse, WI – Despite a comeback attempt that included six unanswered runs in the final three innings, the Waterloo Bucks (25-23) fell short against the La Crosse Loggers (24-22), 12–11.
The game was tied at five runs a side until the fifth inning when the Loggers doubled their score with five runs in the frame. A Troy Laneve home run out to left field, his second of the game, brought in two more runs for the Loggers to reach their largest advantage of the night at seven runs.
From there, the Bucks put up fours run in the seventh inning and two in the eighth, cutting their deficit to just a single run. The Bucks got a tying runner on first in the top of the ninth after a single from catcher Max Shor, but their next two batters were sat down in order to end the game.
Both Shor and outfielder Cole Hill finished the evening with two RBIs on their statlines, while infielder Elliot Good went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
The Bucks will get Monday off before returning to action against the Eau Claire Express at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
