Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks snapped the La Crosse Loggers’ four-game win streak as they took game two in the series, 7-6.
The Loggers struck first again in the top of the second inning with a sacrifice fly and an RBI double from catcher Jack Collins to get ahead 2-0. Bucks starter Landen Harless would only give up three runs to the Loggers over five innings of baseball.
The Bucks got the game-tying runs off of Loggers starter Casey Burfield in the bottom of the fifth inning with a pair of RBI singles from outfielders Lucas Moore and Larry Edwards Jr. That wouldn’t be the end of the offensive for Edwards Jr. as one inning later he cracked a three-run homerun which was his first of the season.
Ben Wilmes also hit an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to give the Bucks a 6-4 lead.
The Loggers add two more runs on another RBI double from Jack Collins and the game is tied at 7 all headed to the bottom of the seventh.
With the game tied after the seventh inning stretch, catcher Brennan Hudson hits a towering game-lead solo home run. This is Hudson’s third homerun in as many games and his second at Riverfront Stadium.
Reliever Chaney Trout ended the game with a 1.2 IP save giving the Bucks their first win at home in 2024.
The Bucks next play on Friday, June 7th against the Rochester Honkers with the first pitch from Riverfront Stadium set for 6:35 PM.
