Eau Claire, WI – The Waterloo Bucks traveled to Carson Park this morning to face the Eau Claire Express and came away with a game-one victory with a score of 10-8.

The Bucks hopped off the busses and the bats kept their hot streak rolling from the series against the Honkers. 12 batters were sent to the plate in an inning where eight runs were scored. DH Ben Wilmes caught fire at the leadoff spot and ended the first inning with a triple and a three-RBI double. The Bucks scoring would halt until the top of the eighth inning.

Eau Claire scored once from the first inning until the sixth inning thanks to Jacob Phillips throwing five full innings of one-run baseball.

The game got closer and closer in the later innings as the Eau Claire bats came to life and tacked on seven runs between the 6th and 8th innings.

In a close late game, the offense added on two insurance runs on RBI doubles from outfielder Lucas Moore and catcher Brennan Hudson. The Bucks bullpen with the help of new addition RHP Pierce Boles kept the Express out of reach to keep the Bucks’ win streak at four-straight games.
