Duluth, MN – On Monday, July 21, the Waterloo Bucks defeated the Duluth Huskies 5-2 at Wade Stadium to split the road trip.

With the score tied 1-1 and one out in the top of the sixth, Owen Ross cleared the bases on a two-strike triple sent to the right-center field wall to put the Bucks in front by three. From that point forward, Waterloo never looked back.

On the very next pitch, Michael Barham produced his second RBI single of the day as he knocked Ross in from third to give the Bucks the largest lead of the entire contest with a 5-1 advantage.

Camden Lyke earned his second career Northwoods League victory by pitching three and one-third innings in relief, allowing only two hits, two walks and one run while punching out one.

His predecessor on the mound Nakni Anna delivered 4.2 IP with just three hits, three walks and one run allowed in addition to three strikeouts. Anna’s start gave him his longest outing in his NWL career.

Tyler Glowacki closed the door with a scoreless bottom of the ninth to record his third save of the season. He also struck out a batter to give him at least one punchout in 17 consecutive games.

With two hit-by-pitches on the evening, Jake Slade reached base in his 24th consecutive contest, surpassing Marcus Heusohn for the longest on-base streak of the season by any Buck.

Larry Edwards stole second base on the fourth pitch of the game to give him 46 on the season, bringing him within two of the Waterloo single-season record of 48 set by Lucas Moore last year. He also managed to reach base safely in his 15th straight game.

The Bucks return to Riverfront Stadium tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22, for a 12:05 pm (CDT) contest against the Eau Claire Express.
