Waterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks have announced the promotional schedule for their 20th season of play. With 36 home games at renovated Riverfront Stadium in 2014, the Bucks will bring affordable family entertainment to the Cedar Valley.
The Bucks will open the season at home on Wednesday, May 28 versus the Rochester Honkers. First pitch will be at 6:35 pm with gates opening at 5:30 pm. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Bucks Magnet Schedule powered by AKA Services and Karen’s Print-Rite. There will be a post-game Fireworks Extravaganza for all fans to enjoy.
Eight additional Fireworks Extravaganzas are scheduled for the 2014 season, including a Saturday Fireworks Series that will feature fireworks after every Saturday home game. In addition to Opening Day, fireworks shows will take place on June 14, June 21, July 2, July 4, July 12, July 19, August 2, and August 6.
The first 1,000 fans to enter renovated Riverfront Stadium on Saturday, June 14 will receive a Bucks mini-bat powered by Hawkeye Community College. Later that night, Hawkeye Community College will be the sponsor of the post-game Fireworks Extravaganza. In addition to the first 1,000 fans receiving mini-bats, the next 500 fans to enter the ballpark that evening will receive a Bucks koozie powered by Birdnow Chevrolet. The Bucks will also be hosting Happy Hour prior to the game, featuring $2 beer from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. That evening, the Bucks will play the Duluth huskies at 7:05 pm.
Breast Cancer Awareness – Pink Out Buck Night to support The Beyond Pink TEAM will occur on Monday, June 16. The Bucks have teamed up with the Cedar Valley Breast Care Center, Fober, Arensdorf & Associates, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., and Great Clips for the promotion where Bucks players will wear special pink game jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game with all proceeds going to The Beyond Pink TEAM. That night, the Bucks play the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 6:35 pm. In addition to the Breast Cancer Awareness festivities, the June 16 game will be a Buck Night, featuring $1 beer, $1 hot dogs, and $1 popcorn. One dollar admission coupons are available from the Cedar Valley Breast Care Center, Fober, Arensdorf & Associates, Great Clips, and ROCK 108. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to support the cause.
The second annual Kids Quarter Dash Day will occur on Sunday, July 13, as the Bucks take on the Willmar Stingers at 3:35 pm. The first 250 kids ages 10 and under will receive a Bucks Beach Bucket. After the game, all children ages 10 and under will be allowed on the field where they will dash to pick up 1,000 quarters in the infield.
Mountain Man from A&E’s hit television show Duck Dynasty, will appear at the Thursday, July 17 Bucks game, when Waterloo takes on the Alexandria Blue Anchors for a 6:35 pm tilt. Mountain Man is will sign autographs, take photos with fans, and be a guest public address announcer. In addition, Mountain Man will be the judge of an on-field Duck Calling competition and a “Best Beard” competition for fans.
“We set the bar high with last year’s promotional schedule,” said Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin. “This year, we aimed to improve upon 2013, and I think we did. We were able to have one-quarter of our home games featuring Fireworks Extravaganzas, which is amazing, not to mention all the other elements of our promotional schedule. I’m sure our fans will really enjoy themselves at renovated Riverfront Stadium this summer.”
For the 15th consecutive season, each Monday home game will be a Buck Night. With a total of seven Monday games, each Buck Night will consist of $1 beer, $1 hot dogs, and $1 popcorn as well as $1 admission with an admission coupon from participating sponsors and select Woodward Radio Group stations.
The Bucks will continue Double Buck Nights in their promotional schedule. Three Thursday home games will be a Double Buck Night featuring $2 beer, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $1 fountain soda as well as $2 admission with an admission coupon from participating sponsors and select Woodward Radio Group stations.
For the fourth consecutive year, Tuesday and Wednesday home games will feature the Great Clips Shutout Challenge. Fans with a box seat ticket during Tuesday and Wednesday regular season Bucks’ home games will receive complimentary food and beverage until the visiting team scores, or the end of the seventh inning, all courtesy of Great Clips.
Another feature of Tuesday and Wednesday games are Copyworks College Nights on the Deck. Individuals who present a valid College ID at the Riverfront Stadium ticket window will get into the game and onto the Budweiser Party Deck for just $17.
The Bucks bring back the Friday Night Fish Fry for a second season. All five Friday home games will feature discounted fried fish baskets all game long.

The Bucks will open the 2014 season on the road versus the Rochester Honkers on May 27, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus Rochester on May 28.
