Despite out hitting the Stingers seven to five on Tuesday night, the Bucks were shutout in their first matchup of the season against Willmar.

Cody Sedlock was the losing pitcher, allowing three runs (two earned) over six and two-thirds innings. Sedlock gave up just one hit over his first six innings of work, though he was burned for four hits early in the seventh inning.

Sedlock struck out the side in the top of the first inning on just 13 pitches. He struggled with his control at times, though, and ended up walking three batters. Sedlock pitched well enough to earn a victory on most nights, but took the loss largely due to no run support.

Willmar starter Brady Anderson earned his second victory of the season, blanking the Bucks over seven very strong innings. He allowed six hits, though none of them timely enough for Waterloo to cross the plate.

The Waterloo offense had no problem getting runners on base. Five separate times over the course of the night, the Bucks had runners in scoring position. None of that matters if you can't get the runners across, though.

Errors stung the Bucks, as well. Despite only two recorded errors, several should-have-been plays resulted in runs for the Stingers.

The Bucks and Stingers square off again on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. That game will wrap up a four game home stand for the Bucks. Dane Dunning makes his Bucks debut against Aaron Towns of Willmar.
