An errant throw from Duluth third baseman Alex Greene allowed Jon McAllister to come around and score from second on a Pat Mackenzie ground ball, and the Bucks emerged victorious in ten innings.
A textbook pitcher's duel, Landon Simpson pitched eight spectacular innings, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out six. The one run he gave up, which came in the seventh, was enough to warrant him the no decision, as his counterpart was equally dominant.
Duluth's starter Dylan Barrow went six innings and gave up only one run (unearned) and two hits. He ended up with a no decision, though pitched well enough to earn a victory most nights.
Waterloo's Brent Jurceka came in to start the ninth and was the victor, pitching two hitless innings. Chris Myjack takes the loss for Duluth, though the run he allowed was unearned.
Whereas errors directly cost the Huskies the game on Saturday, the lack of errors saved the Bucks. Waterloo committed no errors, compared to three for Duluth.
The Bucks welcome the St. Cloud Rox to Riverfront Stadium for a two game set beginning Sunday at 3:35 p.m. Dane Dunning will be on the mound for the Bucks in that one, as the Bucks will be shooting for their nonth straight victory.
