The Bombers should consider themselves extremely lucky to have come away with a win in the second and final game of their series with the Bucks. 

Waterloo left a total of 17 runners on base, including six in the first two innings of the contest, en route to a 9-8 loss on Sunday afternoon. 

Mikal Hill had an opportunity to drive in the tying and game winning runs in the ninth inning, but a fly ball to left starnded the final two runners. Battle Creek's coaching staff played with fire when they brought in a lefty to face center fielder Kevin Kaczmarski with one out in the ninth inning. Kaczmarski has preyed on southpaws in 2014, slugging a team high .521 against them. 

Some of Waterloo's stranded runners can be attributed to the Bucks small ball style. Down 8-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the club attempted three consecutive bunts and only came away with one run. 

The winning pitcher in this afternoon's contest was starter Luke Heller, who won his second game of the season. The losing pitcher for Waterloo was starter Eric Veglahn, who allowed seven runs (five earned) over two innings. 

The Bucks begin a two game home series with the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Monday at 6:35 p.m. The series will be the last of the season for the Bucks.
