On July 24, 2018, the Waterloo Bucks announced their partnership with the Waterloo Police Department in the inaugural year of the ‘Catch With a Cop’ program. ‘Catch With a Cop’ is designed to bridge communication between local police officials and youth throughout Waterloo and the Cedar Valley. This year’s program will incorporate several interactions at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium and various parks throughout Waterloo.
The Bucks and Waterloo Police Department are currently working with the Boys and Girls Club of the Cedar Valley and the Black Hawk County YMCA.
“We are excited to be a part of bringing together police officers and youth within Waterloo for open communication and to provide some fun through baseball,” stated Bucks assistant general manager Ben Knaack. “We are proud to continue to expand the Our Bucks community efforts by getting other community groups involved to participate in a great program such as ‘Catch With a Cop.’”
