Finding themselves down 5-2 in the top of the 9th inning on Monday night the Eau Claire Express exploded for 7 runs to take the lead and topple the Alexandria Blue Anchors 9-5 at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.

 

After three straight Express base hits to start the inning, Alexandria pitcher George Faue let two runs score back-to-back by drilling two Express batters.

 

Express left fielder Tyler Adkison highlighted the inning with a one out grand slam to take the lead for good. He finished the game 2-4 with a walk and 4 RBI.

 

It was the best offensive day for the Express on the season so far totaling 12 hits. Center fielder Brady Burzynski launched his first home run of the season as he finished the day 2-5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

 

Miles Nablo picked up the win for the Express coming in for relief and pitching 4 scoreless innings giving up 4 hits and collecting 4 strikeouts.

 

The Express continue their 6 game road trip against Alexandria tonight. First pitch for game 2 is scheduled for tonight at 7:05 p.m.
