The Bismarck Larks dropped their second straight to the Duluth Huskies in the final game of a two-game series, 10-6.
Fans at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of Dakota Community Bank and Trust Field saw a combined 16 runs, and 18 hits between the two teams.
On the hill for the Larks, Jake Lynch (Murray State University) pitched for a strong four innings, allowing three earned runs, five hits, and striking out an impressive four batters. Lynch also delivered the Metro Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch of the Game, at 87 mph. Will Chauffe (Pepperdine University), in relief, pitched a perfect one inning, allowing no hits and striking out one.
For the Huskies on the mound, Jake Hamilton (Oklahoma Baptist University) pitched five innings, allowing only two hits, one earned run, and striking ten batters. Hamilton struck out the first 7 Larks batters to start the game. In relief, Jake Christianson (Feather River College) closed it out for Duluth. He gave up back-to-back singles in the bottom of the ninth, then struck out the next three to clinch the win.
The Larks at the plate today hit for a total of seven hits. Reggie Williams (CSU-Pueblo) went two for four at the plate, scoring once and driving in three RBI. Williams also delivered the Fetzer Electric Play of the Game with a two RBI single in the 8th inning. Jackson Beaman (University of Missouri) went one for four with an RBI as well.
The Huskies saw an impressive outing from left fielder JD Rogers (Vanderbilt University) going three for four, two runs scored, and three RBI. Rogers finished a home run shy of the cycle. Joe Vos also finished three for four at the plate with an RBI single in the first inning.
