John Bollinger is an entrepreneur, event producer, and community builder based in Bismarck, North Dakota. He is the Owner and CEO of the Bismarck Larks and Funatix Events, as well as Co-Owner and CEO of the Minot Hot Tots, Minot Honeybees, and Grand Forks Spitfires. John is driven by a simple belief: using FUN to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people and the communities he serves.
Under his leadership, the Bismarck Larks have become one of the premier organizations in the Northwoods League, known for sold-out games, innovative fan experiences, and a strong connection to community.
Funatix Events produces immersive experiences that connect people and celebrate community, helping lead events such as Downtown Depot Days, Mandan Rodeo Days, and the Bismarck Marathon, while also producing large-scale private and civic events such as Governor Armstrong’s Inaugural Ball, the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference, and more.
At the core of John’s work is a clear philosophy: “FUN Done Differently” creates core memories, stronger communities, and lifelong fans.
John serves on the board of the Larks Community FUNd, which supports local nonprofits and expanding access to sports and positive experiences for families and youth. He also serves on the board of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation.
Originally from St. Louis, John now calls North Dakota home with his wife Marcie and their daughters.
