It might be the offseason, but the Express front office is hard at work. Meet our two fall interns:

Arielle Gordon, Media Relations

Arielle Gordon joined the Eau Claire Express in September after working as the Northwoods League Media Relations Intern during the 2021 season.

Over the summer, Gordon wrote recaps of all NWL games and the player and pitcher of the night releases. She also managed the League’s social media accounts. She worked with the Northwoods League studio hosts to make sure they had information for their show and they kept her updated about their work.

“I enjoyed getting to cover the 2021 season,” Gordon said. “I’m excited to keep working with the Northwoods League to get ready for 2022.”

With the Express, she has been working to update the team record books and she helps out with social media. Gordon has also been keeping track of Express alumni who are pursuing careers in professional baseball.

Ben Teske, Marketing

Ben Teske was originally supposed to join the Eau Claire Express for the 2020 season. After the announcement that the season would be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his offer was extended to 2021. Teske worked as a Stadium Operations Intern during the 2021 season.

He was responsible for coordinating with food and beverage vendors to manage the inventory for home games. He also oversaw the team’s part-time staff members and would fill in if someone couldn’t make it to the game. On home game days, Teske would get to Carson Park around 9 a.m. to begin getting ready for the game and he would leave around midnight.

“I had to set up the stadium,” he said. “I was at the stadium all day every day, for all of our games. You never really know what you’re going to do each day.”

This fall, Teske is finishing up his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and working in the Express Front Office. He is working on the Fall Flash sales and selling tickets for 2022.

The Express is accepting applications for all internships for the 2022 season. Send a resume and cover letter to Sammi Costello at sammi@eauclaireexpress.com or check out the internship page on the Express website
