(Rochester, Minn.) – The Rochester Honkers lost to the Waterloo Bucks in Waterloo, Iowa, 2-0 at Riverfront Stadium in Northwoods League action tonight.

Tyler Curtis (Lynn University) singled home a run in the first, while Adam McGinnis (Western Illinois) doubled home Robert Nuestrom in the sixth to earn the Bucks the win.

Isaac Friesen (0-1) (Hawaii) got the start for Rochester, going five innings, gave up two hits, one run and walked four. Robert Paccione (LIU, Post) pitched two innings in relief, giving up two hits, one run and struck out one. Tanner Shumacher finished out the game for the Honkers throwing one inning and struck out one.

Brett Solano (1-0) (Menlo College) started for the Bucks, going eight innings, gave up three hits and struck out seven. Brandon Downey (Maryville University) got his third save of the season.

Joey Czarske (Cal State Northridge), Brett Harrison (North Dakota) and Keaton Weisz (Auburn) all collected one hit for the Honkers.

Curtis paced the Bucks offense by going 2 for 4 with one RBI.

With the loss, the Honkers fall to 2-5 while the Bucks advance to 6-2.

The Honkers are back in action tomorrow night to play the Mankato MoonDogs at Franklin Rodgers Park in Mankato. The teams will play two, seven inning games as part of a make up from the postponed game on Friday June 3. The Honkers are back at home Thursday to battle the MoonDogs, so come find a seat and relax your feet after enjoying Thursdays on First!
