After falling behind 4-2 in the middle innings, the Bucks (2-3) could only muster up one run in the late innings to fall to the Battle Creek Bombers (3-2) in the first of a two game series on the road.

After scoring only one run in the first four innings, the Bombers put together a string of one-run innings in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to give Jarod Wagoner (Butler) his fourth loss of the season.

Down 4-2 with two on and two outs in the top of the eighth, trying to get some runs across, Zach McCool knocked a single into right field to score one, but that would be the end of the Bucks rally as Bombers closer RJ Hively (Cal State Fullerton) collected his eighth save of the season.

The Bucks were led at the plate by second baseman Zach McCool (Iowa) who went three for four with one run scored and one RBI. Right fielder Jason Krizan (Dallas Baptist) also added a pair of singles and an RBI.

The Bucks finish their short two-game road trip with Battle Creek tonight at 7:05 PM and will be back home to take on the Bombers on Friday, July 10.
