GREEN BAY- Troy White’s one-run home run shot in the beginning of the game Monday night couldn’t stop the Green Bay Bullfrogs from topping the Waterloo Bucks, 6-5.
The Bucks were up against a tough Bullfrog defense Monday, but managed to collect eight hits for the night, including White’s home run shot and two doubles from Josh Lyon and Christian Griffiths. Pitcher Scott Williams took the mound for one and a half innings, but ultimately would take the loss, giving up four runs and striking out one.
Griffiths hit two, including his double, and brought in three runs for the Buck. Lyon also brought one run in with his double. Willie Argo, Phil Keppler, and Michael Giller all had one hit a piece for the game.
The Waterloo Bucks have a day off on Tuesday and return to Riverfront Stadium Wednesday for an afternoon game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The Wednesday and Thursday series will be the last home series of the regular season. Thursday features Thirsty Thursday and Fireworks Extravaganza after the game.
