Jim tallied really strong numbers while pitching for the Bucks.  Jim had a 20-6 record with a 2.63 ERA in 53 games.  He had 9 complete games, struck out 245 batters and only gave up 84 walks in his 232 innings pitched.

After being drafted by the New York Mets in the 33rd round (978th overall) of the 1996 Amateur Draft, he was signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1999.  Jim went on to play in the minors, but never managed to make it to the ‘show’.

Jim got really close while playing for two different triple A teams– the Durham Bulls (Illinois) and the Columbus Clippers (Illinois).  Jim played for the Bulls in the years 2002-2006 and played for the Clippers in the year 2007. After playing for Columbus in ’07, Magrane left for an independent league and played for the Somerset Patriots out in New Jersey.  Jim palyed the 2011 season for the Patriots, and may play for them again next year.

In his time in the minors, Jim has posted a career 68-74 record with a 3.94 ERA.  He pitched in 233 games and had 808 strike outs with 392 walks.
